Category FAQ

Where does the economic data come from?

The live GDP per capita map reads the World Bank Indicators API. The Economy Explorer uses a downloadable WDI snapshot plus separately attributed Taiwan values; each view identifies its source and observation year.

Do I need to download a file to use these maps?

No manual download is needed. The live map fetches World Bank observations in your browser. The Economy Explorer loads hosted snapshot files and offers CSV, GeoJSON and the original JSON for download.
