Sum over reporting economies: $95.97T · 199 reporting economies in 2024. This is a partial sum, not a complete world total.
constant 2015 US$ · A gap means the value was not reported. Select a year on the chart or timeline.
199 of 218 economies report this indicator in 2024; 19 have no observation. Use the year controls above to explore historical rankings on this page.
Ranks can change because of the figures themselves or because different economies report from year to year. Compare years using each year's own coverage.
Gross domestic product in constant 2015 US dollars measures economic output with price changes removed using a fixed reference year.
How to interpret the figures: The 2015 price basis differs from current US dollars. It is useful for changes over time, but does not adjust purchasing power across countries.
In 2024, this snapshot includes 199 reporting economies for real gdp. United States has the highest reported value at $22,731,468,331,925 (constant 2015 US$). This ranking uses the same year for every economy and excludes missing observations.
Source indicator: NY.GDP.MKTP.KD · World Bank. Taiwan values, where present, use the separately attributed patch described below.
The series is measured in constant 2015 US$. The 2015 price basis differs from current US dollars. It is useful for changes over time, but does not adjust purchasing power across countries.
A grey country has no reported observation for the selected year. It does not have a value of zero. Only reporting economies receive a rank; use the timeline to inspect another year.
Add up to four economies to the history chart. The timeline controls the map and ranking year; gaps in the lines preserve missing observations. The comparison keeps the same indicator and unit for all countries.
Download CSV for the selected year's values or GeoJSON for the map geometry joined to that year. The original JSON series below contains every supplied year; country profiles show observation years for individual metrics.
Each indicator shows the same observation year, its reporting coverage and the three highest reported values. Sums cover reporting economies only; rates and per-capita values are not added together.

This explorer uses a frozen snapshot retrieved on 6 October 2026, covering 1985–2025. The observation year is shown beside each value. World Bank WDI metadata records an API revision of 13 July 2026; retrieval date and observation year describe different things.
World Bank World Development Indicators supplies the main country series. Taiwan is included through a separate patch, labelled National Statistics, Taiwan (DGBAS) in the delivered files. The accompanying reference describes an IMF WEO patch; that provenance discrepancy remains unresolved. The Census population cross-check mentioned in the metadata is not a bundled data series.
Countries and territories are joined by ISO3 code to Natural Earth 110m boundaries. The map contains 177 polygons, plus 47 markers for economies without a polygon at this scale. It is a statistical overview; the geometry is not intended for detailed boundary work.
Rankings compare only economies reporting the selected indicator in the selected year. A missing value stays missing, zero and negative values remain valid, and ties receive the same rank. The map uses a logarithmic colour scale for large positive monetary totals and headcounts, and a linear scale for rates and signed values. The legend states the scale in use. Different money units are kept separate.
2024 is the default comparison year. Reporting coverage varies by indicator and year, especially in 2025; estimates may be included. Central government debt has particularly limited coverage and ends in 2024. Aggregate figures are sums over reporting economies with their reporting count, rather than complete world totals. Percentages and per-capita values are never summed.
For a source that updates directly from the API, use the live World Bank GDP per capita map. This explorer uses a fixed historical snapshot so its charts, rankings, downloads and page summaries agree.
